The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory (1902-1994), the seventh leader in the Chabad-Lubavitch dynasty, is considered to have been the most phenomenal Jewish personality of modern times. To hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of sympathizers and admirers around the world, he was â€" and still is, despite his passing – "the Rebbe," undoubtedly, the one individual more than any other singularly responsible for stirring the conscience and spiritual awakening of world Jewry.
The Chabad of Ocala and The Villages was initiated through his teachings, wisdom and inspiration.
Shabbat, July 1-2 is his 28th yartzeit. We are dedicating the Shabbat to celebrate the Rebbe's life and legacy.
We will be joined by a popular lecturer, Rabbi Seligson, who has served as scholar in residence for Chabad institutions in the United States and abroad. His Father Dr. Avrohom Abba Seligson OB"M was the personal physician of the Lubavitcher Rebbe for a period of forty years. Rabbi Seligson will spend the entire Shabbat with us and share words of inspiration, infused with stories and thoughts that are sure to uplift on the special day.
